St. Philip’s College is now accepting entries for its 30th Annual CultureFest & Rib Cook-Off food and drink competitions on May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on its campus at 1801 Martin Luther King Drive.

This year’s event features three mouthwatering categories: pork ribs, dessert, and non-alcoholic beverages. Each entry is $20, and participants may register and pay online at this link.

The annual cook-off is a staple of CultureFest, celebrating culinary creativity and community spirit. Competitors must submit their entries for judging between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The pork rib category entries must submit two pre-sliced slabs (minimum 10 bones) presented in a Styrofoam container on foil. Dessert entries must be submitted in a disposable 9-inch pan, while beverages should be delivered in a one-gallon disposable container.

First place in the rib cook-off will score a free entry to the legendary and highly coveted 2026 Rodeo BBQ Cook-Off!
