St. Philip’s College will host Taste of Black Restaurant Week San Antonio (BRWSA) on February 24, 2022, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the new Tourism, Hospitality, and Culinary Arts (THCA) Building. The event will offer a taste of BRWSA featured restaurants and bites from our very own Culinary Arts students.

Students from Chef Patrick Brown’s Professional Cooking Class will be preparing and serving blacken shrimp, ancho glazed shrimp, coconut shrimp w/ garlic and bacon jam, and mini soul burgers. Fourteen students will participate in the event.

Taste of BRWSA will take place inside Artemisia’s and the building foyer area. Artemisia's, a classroom restaurant of the THCA department, features various groups of students who collaborate to prepare, coordinate and serve meals of various styles and cuisines. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the building and features views of downtown San Antonio.

The event leads into the fourth annual BRWSA, a charitable event that will run from February 21 to March 7. BRWSA is an effort to showcase Black-owned businesses, including restaurants, food trucks, and catering companies.
