Scobee Education Center Announcements

2025-26 School Registration Is Open

Area ISD's and schools wishing to schedule a Challenger mission, Micronaut mission, planetarium presentation or combinations of these should reach out  to our center scheduler Lynn at sac-ScobeeCtr@alamo.edu to request information on availability, pricing, and to receive the registration materials.  Scheduling does not take place over the phone without the completed registration document.  Registration forms, crew manifests, and center maps are located under the Scobee web pages for each program; planetarium presentations, Challenger, or Micronaut missions. 

Don't delay as the calendar for the entire school year is filling up a little more every day!

Scobee Spook-Tacular Anniversary on October 31, 2025

This Halloween, the Scobee Education Center celebrates its 11th anniversary! As a part of the festivities, the center will hold a "Spacey Costume Contest" for the kids followng the 6:30 planetarium show.

Area partners participating in this event will be The Witte Museum, Astronomy on Tap & Southwest Research Institute (SwRI), UTSA and the Society of Physics students from UTSA and San Anotnio College.  The Scobee Education Center will provide hands-on, minds-on STEAM activities to engage our guests and trick or treat goodies will be available for our youngest explorers .

Like every Friday night, the doors open at 6:00 p.m. and the tickets to the planetarium shows go on sale the Saturday prior.

Planetarium Announcements

Scobee Planetarium Public Programs for the Fall term.

Planetarium Tickets are available online one week in advance and may be purchased through the Planetarium and Observatory link on this web site. Tickets are also available through the Lackey Camper-Casper Ticket Booth in the center after the doors open at 6 p.m.

Like other theater experiences, it is recommended that guests check the online ticket sales web site ahead coming to the center to see which presentations are being offered or sold out.

October 24, 2025. (Shows will change for October 31st 11th anniversary.)

6:30 - The Little Star That Could -family program with no age restrictions

8:00 - Sky Tonight Live! -Children must be 6 yrs or older to attend.

9:30 - Double Feature:  Extreme Planets & Forward to the Moon -Children must be 6 yrs or older to attend.

Tickets are available through our online one week prior for Friday night shows.
