- Other non-traditional students needing support to succeed in college
Department Programs
At the SAC Empowerment Center, a wide range of services is offered to students on the department’s caseload including: academic advising, parenting support programs, leadership development programs and other special programming.
Empowerment Center Certified Advisors are trained to be attuned to the specific needs of non-traditional populations new to a campus environment. Students on our caseloads receive: individual academic advisement in all degree areas, case-management, community, and campus referrals.
The following services are available for students on Empowerment Center caseloads:
- Assistance with academic support from entry to graduation
- Case management with comprehensive education and retention services
- Degree plan development
- Campus referrals

College Enrollment Lab
Get help throughout the enrollment process with services designed to aide and empower individuals to reach academic goals, including application and scheduling assistance, workshops, and scholarships.

Transition to College Career Lab
The Transition to College Career Lab is open to community members seeking to make the transition to college. The lab helps you make that transition by exploring what you want to study once you are enrolled. Our goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of your personal interests and strengths so you can achieve success in your academic pursuits.
Services provided include:
- Interest and strengths assessment inventories
- Career pathways/degree planning
- Assistance with research on different state licensures Academic College Preparation Workshops
Military Family Education Program
Career services for military spouses and their dependents are being offered in conjunction with SAC Victory Center. Services offered include:
- Specialized Support Services
- Social Support/Networking
- Military Connected Partnership Referrals

Parenting Resource Guide
The SAC Empowerment Center offers a Resource Guide to assist SAC students find on and off campus resources.
Lactation Room
The Empowerment Center offers a private room for faculty, staff and students to express milk or nurse in a discreet environment. Amenities include:
- Comfortable seating
- Private, Relaxing atmosphere
- Mini refrigerator

- Women4Women Student Organization - This year-long program focuses on helping SAC students learn to identify their leadership style, their leadership qualities, while networking with other women and gaining practical experience in leading.
