Bio:
I have served Northwest Vista College for 18 years as an English Instructor, and am grateful and proud to be a part of this wonderful, caring and supportive community. I graduated from U.T. Austin with a degree in Communication under the Radio-Television-Film department, and spent much of my youth working in the film and television industry.
Continuing my education and love for knowledge and learning, I went on to earn my Masters Degree in English at Texas State University, along with a teaching certificate. Settling in San Antonio to raise my children, with two of my three children born here, I'm proud to observe them continuing their education, while building those San Antonian relationships.
I understand the challenges of balancing school, while working multiple jobs, and supporting a family financially, as well as the importance of finding joy in recreational activities. It can be a juggling act, but can be done while maintaining a healthy state of mind, body and soul. College is an exciting chapter in a person's life. I am here to help support you in your journey, and offer my expertise and guidance to help you achieve your goals and dreams.
Committees/Clubs and Organizations:
I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society for community colleges, and have worked with Fresh Ink Youth Poet's Society, collaborated with Gemini Ink Creative Writing Organization, and mentored many students for Poetry Out Loud as well as hosted many creative writing retreats.
